Job Description
OVERVIEW
Performs maintenance repairs, maintenance construction, and preventive maintenance functions pertaining to a diversified and complicated line of machine tool, material handling, forklift, heating, forming, and forging equipment as well as maintaining buildings, grounds and all related systems.  Operates and services all plant steam generators, air compressors and water treatment systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot and repairs CNC equipment.
  • Performs electrical repairs/ new construction.
  • Regardless of the type of wire used, electricians connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. They join the wires in boxes with various specially designed connectors. After they finish the wiring, they use testing equipment, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to check the circuits for proper connections, ensuring electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Works from general assignments from supervisor and proceeds with minimum supervision and direction. 
  • Requires ability to plan, layout work, and direct the work of others. 
  • Must be academically trained, and have sufficient experience in trade functions to be capable of diagnosing operating failures and effecting remedial repairs. 
  • Disassembles and inspects parts, rebuilds and overhauls complete machines and machine components. 
  • Does structural steel fabrication, welding, pipefitting, plumbing, masonry and concrete work, rough carpentry, etc., incidental to operations. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions including the periodic inspection of equipment, lubricating equipment according to schedules and providing written status reports.
  • Duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to work with blueprints for installing electrical systems in factories, office buildings, and other structures.
  • Knowledge and ability to follow the National Electric Code and comply with State and local building codes when installing systems in factories and offices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have exceptional ability to concentrate and fine skill on complex machinery.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, with strong electrical or CNC background.
