The Athletic Trainer will provide outreach "Athletic Training Services"* to athletes of a local high school teamunder the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.

  • Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
  • Provide athletic training services for all home and away athletic contests.
  • Act as liaison betweenphysicians and the technical staff, front office and the players of the professional team.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and referrals in the injury tracking and referral electronic health record program.
  • Design and implement in-season and off season strength and conditioning programs for professional athletes.
  • Design and implement physical preparation and injury prevention programs for all trainings.
  • Analyze and generate reports on player data via current GPS tracking system.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program.
  • Assist in promotional events for the sports medicine program as needed
  • Cover outside events such as academy trainings, tournaments, races, etc. as needed

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

  • Certification to practice athletic training in the state of Kentucky.
  • Certification as a strength and conditioning specialist.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required
  • Possess effective communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of disability and problems commonly encountered in the care of orthopedic and sports oriented patients.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with physicians and therapists
