Mammography Tech PRN

Minimum of 2 PRN shifts per month

Job Summary:

With limited supervision executes Mammography/ Bone Density procedures in areas assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the major and minor functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

1. Maintain quality control on all assigned instrumentation.

2. Produces images as required.

3. Reports malfunction of equipment to Team leader and coordinator if necessary.

4. Completes QA requirements as needed.

5. Assists in other areas of the Mammography department as needed.

6. Enters orders in the computer.

7. Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.

8. Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases.

9. Assists radiologists in localization studies and stereotactic biopsies by maintaining sterility and producing required images.

10. Participates in carrying out ACR requirements.

11. Practices universal precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment.

12. Transports patients in a secondary capacity when transport is not available and dictated by necessity.

13. Carries out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.

KBMIRT at time of hire. ARRT within 90 days of hire. Registry eligible candidates are required to obtain mammography certification within one year of employment. When in house training occurs, employee has 16 weeks of training before their one year period begins where they have to obtain Mammography certification.

Advanced registry in Mammography.

Current BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
