Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.

NORTON CHILDREN'S GASTROENTEROLOGY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and part of Norton Children's Medical Group, is seeking a leader to serve as division chief of pediatric gastroenterology for the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and section chief of pediatric gastroenterology for Norton Children's.

The candidate will lead a dynamic team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care and research. The UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology has worked together with Norton Children's to care for the patients of the region, train the doctors of tomorrow, and research and innovate in the field of child health for nearly 100 years. Together, they look to grow significantly in the coming years to carry out their shared mission:

  • Be the region's most comprehensive and preferred pediatric health care system from infancy to young adulthood
  • Train tomorrow's pediatric health care providers and leaders
  • Translate clinical research to state-of-the-art bedside care
  • Promote healthy families through advocacy and community engagement

As an integrated entity since 2020, Norton Children's Medical Group, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, has recruited well over 100 providers; added four new accredited fellowships; increased outreach throughout Kentucky; and increased National Institutes of Health grants, industry-sponsored grants, and registry and trial drug network funding through Norton Children's Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.

The ideal candidate will join a clinical practice and academic division that include industrious clinicians, established collaborative multidisciplinary clinics, and research and quality productivity with a history of educational excellence. Qualifications

Required:
  • Medical degree/diploma
  • Kentucky medical license or license eligible
  • Residency/fellowship certification
