Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.

NORTON CHILDREN'S RHEUMATOLOGY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and part of Norton Children's Medical Group, is seeking a leader to serve as division chief of pediatric rheumatology for the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and chief of pediatric rheumatology for Norton Children's.

The new chief will lead a dynamic team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care and research. The UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Rheumatology has worked together with Norton Children's Medical Group to care for the patients of the region, train the doctors of tomorrow, conduct research and innovate in the field of child health for nearly 100 years.

The ideal candidate will join an engaged team of clinicians dedicated to leveraging clinical care
and research to meet the needs of children. Collaborative efforts between the clinical practice and academic division include established multidisciplinary clinics and ongoing research initiatives. The division chief is expected to guide junior faculty and trainees in their career development, foster growth in clinical areas, expand scholarship and establish an affirmative, positive working environment that leads to retention, in which all team members can thrive.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Medical degree/diploma
  • Residency/fellowship certification
  • Kentucky medical license or lcense eligible
