Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.

NORTON CHILDREN'S GASTROENTEROLOGY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and part of Norton Children's Medical Group, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible pediatric gastroenterologist to join our team of physicians and staff providing a broad range of clinical gastrointestinal services. The candidate will function as part of a dynamic, growing team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care, research, education and advocacy. The current pediatric gastroenterology service covers the 300-bed free-standing, full-service Norton Children's Hospital and two local outpatient clinics. This program offers multidisciplinary care in aerodigestive diseases, eosinophilic esophagitis and G-tube/feeding disorders with plans to expand this model.

The University of Louisville School of Medicine shares a vision with Norton Children's Medical Group to grow and further expand our practice and UofL's pediatric gastroenterology division. Through Norton Children's Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, providers have the opportunity to mentor residents and participate in clinical research. The pediatric gastroenterologist who joins our team will have access to a broad range of clinical and academic pediatric gastroenterology services.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Oversee quality improvement, research and administration for inpatient and outpatient clinical service

Qualifications

Required:
  • Doctorate Degree Medicine
  • One of: DO or MD
