Responsibilities

NORTON CHILDREN'S ADVANCED EYE CARE, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Children's Medical Group, is seeking a residency-trained optometrist to join our growing team. The selected candidate will provide high-quality care with a focus on primary eye care in children. Be part of a dynamic team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care, research, education and advocacy.

Norton Children's Advanced Eye Care shares a vision with the University of Louisville School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics and Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences to grow and further expand our services with innovation and passion for the care of children with ophthalmologic conditions.

The selected candidate will collaborate with our current pediatric ophthalmologist to perform routine eye exams in children, detecting and treating refractive errors, amblyopia, strabismus and common pediatric eye issues. The position is an academic appointment as well as a clinical opportunity, with a responsibility to train ophthalmology residents and technicians.

  • Full-time clinical outpatient opportunity
  • Opportunity for academic appointment in the UofL School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, including research and mentorship of students and residents
  • Opportunity to develop new multidisciplinary/specialty clinics in partnership with a large network of pediatric specialists
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Experience or desire to work on contact lens fitting and low-vision rehabilitation preferred

Qualifications

Required:
  • Doctorate Degree Optometrist
  • Certified Optometrist
Desired:
  • Three years of relevant clinical expereince.
