Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Transportation Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Manage successful completion of projects assigned
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations with the Department of Transportation and similar clients, and be involved with marketing and contractual negotiations
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work efforts with team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational, and Business Group leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staff and act as a mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Develop and lead assigned team(s)
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of related design experience and/or construction engineering experience
  • 5 years of project management experience
  • PE license or ability to obtain
  • MS Office and MS Project or equivalent PM Software experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bluebeam experience
  • 15 years of relevant work experience
  • 10 years of project management experience
  • Experience serving TDOT and other transportation clients as a project manager
  • Masters Degree
  • PMP Certification
