What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of barge cleaning and repair personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Plan and oversee barge cleaning and repair projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control, to ensure successful and on-time project completion.
  • Promote a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing safety procedures and regulations, conducting safety training, and ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure that all barge cleaning and repair work meets quality standards and complies with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of tools and equipment used in barge cleaning and repair operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including work hours, materials used, and any incidents or issues encountered during operations.
  • Collaborate with barge maintenance managers, outside contractors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status and resolve any project-related issues.
  • Implement environmental protection measures to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

What we are looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in barge cleaning and repair operations.
  • Be able to maintain an active TWIC.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong knowledge of barge cleaning and repair techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the maritime industry.
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Effective communication and team management skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute complex projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of barging operations and river system.
  • Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, MSDS regulations.

    Even better if you have:

    • 5-7 years of previous brown water barge supervision cleaning and repair competence.
    • Proficient in using MS Office software products.
    • Crane Operator certification.
