Role Summary

The Sr. Distribution Center Process Development Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Rivian's standardized warehouse processes. This role is a critical contributor to the strategic and day-to-day operations of the distribution operations and business teams and will require initiative, independent judgement, and cross-team collaboration. This role requires partnership with IT to define business requirements and complete projects within a compressed timeline. The ideal candidate has a bias to action, over delivers for partnering teams, and unlocks scalable processes within the distribution centers globally. The Sr. Distribution Center Process Development Manager will be required to be on-site at the warehouse at least 3 days per week, and will report into the Manager, Supply Chain Optimization.


Responsibilities

  • Map, design, and standardize warehouse processes, including slotting, put-away, pick/pack, kitting, shipping, and other applicable warehouse processes (End to End DC Process)
  • Work on-site with warehouse teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for enhancing day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure clear translation of business requirements to enable implementation of new system capabilities in SAP EWM
  • Set roadmap for warehouse capabilities and processes with a focus on balancing short- and long-term priorities to enable scalability of Rivian's entire service distribution network
  • Investigate and evaluate business cases (ROI) for new technologies to improve productivity
  • Develop process to track KPI's at Distribution Centers to drive continuous improvement and productive operations
  • Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Rivian's objectives and timelines
  • Create and maintain models for warehouse capacity planning throughout network to ensure proper risk management
  • Serve as liaison between business/operations teams and IT development teams
  • Drive solutions for complex warehouse and distribution opportunities across multiple geographic sites
  • Interact with the IT, Service Engineering, Collision, and Distribution Operations Organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience, Master's Preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in project/program management
  • Previous experience in process management and standardization focused on distribution or warehousing
  • Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably SAP EWM; specific expertise in design and roll-out of WMS processes including, but not limited to, slotting analysis, pick/putaway logic, order prioritization, and master data management
  • Understanding of interface between WMS and MRP systems
  • Knowledge of lean methodologies and visual management with an emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with Global Automotive industry supply chain and logistics
  • Capacity to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and effectively in performing task or duties as assigned to completion
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work within guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion within budget and on-time
  • Professional demeanor with strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong desire to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with many projects
  • Enthusiasm for working in a strong cross-functional environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across varying geographic locations simultaneously
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners
  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day
  • Ability to frequently use hands to handle, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stoop and kneel to retrieve materials up to 50 lbs. under select racking or floor pile locations
  • Ability to view, read, and interpret documents, safety rules, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to perform all duties in the warehouse that may contain dust, high noise, hot and cold weather
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
