The Finance Intern works as an apprentice under the direction of the Business Analyst and is responsible for functions needed in the Finance Team. The internship will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the Company. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Using historical operating data, demographic information, and other data points, attempt to distill what factors are truly important in the future success of a new campus that is being developed.
  • Using regression and/or other statistical analyses, derive the minimum requirements for future markets where development will occur.
  • Final presentation will include a description of the methods used, what are the primary drivers to the success of a development site, and how do we compare two future development sites (i.e. the higher the avg. household income for the population over the age of 65, the higher the chances of a successful development, or, more interesting, the closer the proximity to a hearing aide dealer, the higher the chances of a successful development).
  • The project will begin with understanding what defines a 'successful' skilled nursing/senior housing campus. Then the student will gather data points - demographic, socioeconomic, etc. - and attempt to define which variables and at what levels predict success of a campus.
  • The final presentation will be given to the Finance and Development teams, with a Q&A session after.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.


Qualifications

  • Entry Level: Requires 0-1 years' experience and HS Diploma or equivalent.

Physical requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and all business associates outside of the health campus.
