Job Description

The Senior Quality Tech will perform and/or direct mechanical and visual evaluations of product and process. They will review and provide input for CONMED engineering and manufacturing documents. They will write technical reports used in support of compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820. They will assist in customer complaint investigations in accordance with CONMED's policies and procedures. They will perform calibration on various instrumentation. This is a 2nd shift position onsite in Largo, Florida.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses Inspection Procedures and working knowledge of inspection techniques to inspect parts to blueprints, procedures and specifications in manufacturing and receiving inspection areas.
  • Uses working knowledge of inspection techniques to determine the most accurate method of comparing measurements of complex parts to blueprints, procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct calibrations on various instruments, measurements and test equipment to appropriate standards.
  • Writes detailed inspection reports in compliance with current work instructions on parts, products and processes that pass or fail inspection.
  • Verify dimensional criteria of all manufactured parts to blueprint specifications and purchase order requirements.
  • Assist in development of inspection procedures as directed.
  • Perform inspections of first article layout and complex parts and finished goods to blueprint.
  • Train techs in gaging and measuring techniques including CMM and vision systems.
  • Review NPRs for completeness and verify non-conformances.
  • Reviews, writes and approves Inspection Procedures as applicable.
  • Assigns and reports on workload, backlog conditions and general inspections activities.
  • Keep accurate and complete calibration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years in a QA environment & Calibration experience.
  • Three years mechanical inspection or equivalent course work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • CMM Programming experience
  • Blueprint and/or Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance training
  • Ability to apply good inspection techniques with limited supervision.
