This exciting opportunity to join our Catalyst division in Louisville, KY. This position will mainly work as an Associate Scientist in the Louisville Research and Development Center. This includes conducting laboratory work for catalyst preparation, testing, and/or characterization of catalysts as an R&D project team member, helping develop new and/or improved products, supporting catalyst productions, and providing customer technical services.


Responsibilities

  • Executes preparation, testing, and/or characterization of catalysts as part of a project team memberto help in developing innovative products, supporting catalyst productions, and customer technical services.
  • Safely deliver test results with consistentgood quality, proactively communicate issues, and take necessary actionsto follow up.
  • Understand and apply the knowledge of the functions of major components in compositions, main chemical reactions in catalyst preparations and applications, and working principles of equipment and processes.
  • Write clear & concise reports and technicalpapers subject to review by the group or project leader.
  • Understand and comply with procedures, policies, and company values. Accept responsibility for actions.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of chemistry or engineering related to research areas and a good understanding of catalyst production and application processes.
  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of working principles of equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and other tasks requiring specialized technical training or skills.
  • Supports and collaborates with colleagues in making decisions that affect team objectives.

Requirements

  • BachelorsDegree inChemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience or technical training
  • Highly motivated and service-minded team member with excellent communication, technical, and organizational skill
  • Experiences with simulation softwares such as SOLIDWORKS and/or CCM+ will be a plus
  • Ability to conduct experiments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner with good safety consciousness
  • Good computer skills, experience in GC analysis and operating test units
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks
  • Very good mechanical aptitude and ability to be very hands-on
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people, be flexible, and thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong motivation, and personal desire and drive for achievement
