Job Description

Responsibilities

Position provides daily supervision of coding staff. Assists with denials, keeping staff apprised of changes in CMS guidelines. Conducts audits and educates physicians and staff. Build professional relationships with practice managers and staff and act as a liaison for the coding department with all clinicians.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement processes for new coding rules and guidelines.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure goals are met within the expectations of Norton Medical Group.
  • Audit records and provide ongoing education and training for providers and coding staff.
  • Accountable for leading coding staff to meet needs and expectations of NHC, including training, coaching and informing them of business needs and initiatives.
  • Liaison between coding department and the office sites; physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical managers/directors and staff.

**This position has the opportunity to work from home. You may be asked to complete training at a Norton Healthcare facility or be able to come to a Norton Healthcare facility for business purposes. Employees in this role must reside in Kentucky or Indiana**


Qualifications

Required:

  • With Bachelor's Degree, three years of coding experience
  • Without Bachelor's Degree, seven years of coding experience
  • One of: CCA, CCS, CIC-ICD, COC, CPC

Desired:

  • One year of management
