ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervises and directs both Peer Support and/or Community Based personnel, including scheduling and coordinating activities, conducting performance reviews, providing training, etc. Responsible for direct management of Community Based Peer Team, Case Management Team, and other non-clinical programs. Participates and/or leads a variety of staff meetings including treatment planning, case review, committee meetings, departmental meetings, etc. Implements and plans community based programming, including identifying and addressing trends, addressing problematic issues with existing programs, and developing new programs/services. Monitors fiscal performance of unit and maintains accurate related documentation. Provides public relations support for Peer and Community Based programs, as relevant, to EAPs, other agencies, referral sources, and local community. Ensures peer and community based activities adhere to state and Joint Commission licensure standards and participates in licensure review activities. Identifies unit training needs, develops corresponding training programs, and implements the programs. Interviews and hires new staff and handles personnel issues and grievances.

EDUCATION

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling or other relevant field. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three to five years experience in recovery-oriented system of care, working closely with Certified Peer Support Specialists.
  • Two to three years experience with a supervisory background and experience with program management (previous supervision of Peers and budget preparation preferred).
  • Have a recovery orientation and model recovery-oriented practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the connections between behavioral health conditions and trauma, health disparities and social inequity, and impact on recovery; specifically with Peers.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and Joint Commission licensing requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good public speaking abilities.
  • Good supervisory skills.
