Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Aviation Design Intern in the Dayton, OH area.

Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. At this time, we are seeking 2 Civil Design (or similar) in our Dayton, OH office for the Summer semester (May/June-August). This internship will be a full-time position working 40 hours a week. The Civil Design Intern will work alongside the Woolpert infrastructure teams working on planning, design, or research projects as well as supporting our task leads. Work can include projects for the FAA, DOTs, airports, and partner consultants.

Responsibilities
    Collaborate and participate on multi-disciplinary teams of various skills and experience across all the project phases from programming, planning, grant administration, conceptual/preliminary design, detailed design, construction.
  • Ensure deliverables and Woolpert quality standards are met per the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate routinely with Manager and Leadership to advise and address circumstances related to client satisfaction, changes of scope, risk management, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Work as part of the Civil planning or design team on a wide range of projects focused on airport infrastructure design, aviation research, and airport planning projects.
  • Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside licensed professionals that are experts in their fields.
  • Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as calculations, data analysis, drawings/renderings, cost estimates, and preparing design plans.
  • Work on software and systems such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Google Earth and ArcPro
  • Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
  • Go on 1-2 site visits and see the projects we work on
  • Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
Qualifications

  • Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status
  • Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geospatial, or Aviation-related degree, with an interest in aviation related infrastructure or geospatial data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills
