Here’s how a Skilled Laborer for our Denver District, contributes to our team:

  • Reports to work on time, ready to work safely and learn
  • Directs concrete placement and assists with pump management and cleanout
  • Assists with patching and rubbing concrete.
  • Places concrete with crane and bucket
  • Skilled stripping formwork, preparing forms, cleaning & stacking of forms
  • Being a Certified Traffic Control Person based on project needs
  • Being qualified at minor scaffold assembly, single or multiple stages
  • Rolls scaffold erection
  • Creates formwork scaffold erection
  • Being proficient in placement and tying of rebar/wire mesh as needed
  • Safely operates hand backfill tools/equipment
  • Safely operates skid steer (including bucket, sweeper and fork attachments) and all terrain forklift
  • Signals a crane
  • Places Caisson Concrete
  • Sets up and utilizes a fall protection system
  • Properly vibrates concrete
  • Finishing concrete (top of walls, pier caps, housekeeping pads, etc.)
  • Connects and maintains gas and propane heaters
  • Being familiar with temporary power systems and how to relocate, set up and dismantle them
  • Creates winter protection of concrete and subgrade, slabs, and/or walls
  • Being familiar with ground thaw equipment
  • Manages stormwater
  • Assists in implementation, oversight and maintenance.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Must be 18 year of age or older
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in commercial construction
  • Traffic Control Certification
  • Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and use of hand and power tools
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Able to multi-task, show initiative and ask questions as needed
  • Able to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks
  • Have a high degree of flexibility in a changing environment
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strength to perform average lifting of up to 50 pounds, from the ground to above head.
  • Should be able to navigate through the worksite on a daily basis
  • Occasionally climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The salary range for this position is between $28.00 and $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
