PURPOSE:

The role of the Lab intern is to provide support to the laboratory team which directly affects the production team's processes, systems, and operations. It will include day to day testing and calibrations, export/organization of data into graphs, and method result correlations where applicable. In addition, the Intern will have the opportunity to enhance their formal education by applying their knowledge to their daily tasks which are typically performed by Calumet Chemists. During their internship, the Lab Intern will be responsible to present the results of their work to the Chemists and Lab Manager.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Method/results correlation to internally developed methods
  • Day to day Chemist testing (includes use of GC, HPLC, FTIR, etc.)
  • Basic Lab Calibrations
  • Export Data /Prepare graphs with Annual Product Review Data.
  • Assistance in working on R&D Projects and Custom product blending.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • Must be a current college student in good standing pursuing a Chemistry or Engineering Degree
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Operating programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office
