RN, Neuro Spine

Shift: Part Time; Every 3rd weekend minimum and Holiday Rotation

Where You'll Be:

Known as 5 Park for being on the fifth floor of our Park Tower, the 24 bed unit features all-private rooms with monitoring capabilities and specialized nursing assessment and care to patients with both neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. Typical patients include those with a diagnosis of stroke, post-op craniotomy, post-op discectomy and other back surgeries, as well as post-cerebral embolization. Unit nursing care is complemented by the expertise of the Neuroscience Nurse Clinician, who is the Stroke Coordinator as well and assists in linking the Neuro Unit with the Rehabilitation Unit while fostering a strong focus on the patient's continuum of care.

What You'll Do:

• Perform assessments and develop a plan of care utilizing appropriate evidence-based standards

• Provide care consistent with professional standards of practice and Baptist Health Louisville's nursing mission, vision, values and model of care

• Evaluates patient response to treatment

• Apply critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational and leadership skills
