About This Role:

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a DIRECTOR OF BROADCAST ENGINEERING, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.

An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support for home live linear/streaming TV and videoboard events, which includes working outside in inclement weather conditions, heights of up to 50 feet, and standing for four or more hours at a time lifting, holding and/or carrying 25 lbs of equipment. A valid driver's license is also required to drive vehicles to and from locations to perform job duties.
  • Work with Director of Video Services scheduling engineers to work home live linear/streaming TV and videoboard events.
  • Train and evaluate student crew workers including student engineers.
  • Provide regular evaluation and maintenance of control room equipment for Powercat Vision/K-State HD.TV.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience
  • Three years of live event production experience
  • Technical experience with control room systems such as routers, switches, graphics, replays, cameras, servers, and other video related systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical experience with Ross, Evertz, EVS, RTS-Odin, DANTE, Sony cameras, and Daktronics equipment
  • Knowledge of IP related infrastructure

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for four or more hours at a time holding 25 lbs of filming equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 25 lbs of equipment when required
  • Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions - cold, hot, wind, rain, snow, ice, etc.
  • Must be able to work at heights of up to 50 feet
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at all times
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Salary Rate / Pay Rate:

$60,000 to $75,000
