JOB TITLE: Director, Business & Portfolio Manager, Plasma Innovations

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Manager, Plasma Innovations, (PI) this critical role supports the achievement of the program's objectives by providing program, portfolio, and project management discipline to all aspects of the project. Integrates all internal and external elements for a scalable business segment for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies. Responsible for creating comprehensive program and project plans that deliver timely results on the overall program objectives. Integrate all functioanl and operational elements of the program to include, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, legal, clinical, scientific, regulatory, service and product development efforts. Responsible to ensure management of all program related risks, timelines, and rigorous adherence to common project management methodologies resulting in on time achievement of all major milestones and ensuring contractual compliance for source plasma customers. Drives cross functional communication and collaboration with critical escalation capabilities. Creates and ensures adherence to the program governance model to include approvals, creating clear roles and responsibilities and levels of authority as designated by the steering committee and the Plasma Innovations leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develops and manages all program and project management aspects of the program to include program/project managers.
  • Ensure Project Mangement Methodology is effectively applied with discipline to include the use of the constraints model and other PMM best practices.
  • Influence and align others that are skeptical or unwilling to accept new concepts, practices, policies, and approaches.
  • Participates with the PI business leader to ensure PMO alignment with business strategy.
  • Facilitates the prioritization of all workstreams and projects within program.
  • Ensures all resources identified for the program are available, committed and working appropriately on projects and when not, escalates to the appropriate functional or operational leader for resolution.
  • Facilitates all partnerships with external organizations involved in the program to include consultants, outsourced manufacturing, design and development collaborators and any other vendors associated with the program.
  • Facilitates the planning for the program between all functions, including R&D, Manufacturing, Clinical, Regulatory and Scientific, Service and Commercial resources to best manage time, human resources, and budgets.
  • Interacts/liaison with senior management and management teams concerning matters of significance to the company.
  • Responsible for communicating/reporting program status at multiple company levels including senior management
  • Responsible for identification, mitigation and communicating program risk management activities.
  • Responsible for hiring, integrating, developing, training, coaching, and performance management of program and project management staff.
  • Utilizes best practice change management principles to ensure maximum adoption of changes created by the program.
  • Navigates organizational structures, constructively challenging operating norms. Known as exemplary team player and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or other discipline preferred.

Experience

Minimum 10 years total experience with progressive management experience.

Minimum 5 years in program management

Minimum of 5 years medical device/biomedical industry or regulatory environment experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PMP, PgMP or equivalent certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Additional Physical Requirements

Travel required up to 10% - 15%.

Target Pay Range:$205,500.00to$256,900.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:30.0%
